Happy Wrestlemania weekend, ScreenTeam! The OTVS crew is back again at Faultline Studios to go in — caveman-style — on the WWE’s second animated feature film, The Flintstones & WWE: Stone Age Smackdown! In what can only be described as the most cleverly-disguised attack on kayfabe (as well as the most on-point indictment of the business), ever, this movie forces the crew’s hand in questioning the shameless class warfare between cavemen and dinosaurs, the origins of a Vandal Savage-esque immortal in Vince McMagma/McMahon, and what happens when a young Marc Abrigo’s dreams come true, and he’s propositioned by WWE Hall of Famer, Tammy Lynn Sytch, for some good ol’ sexy timez on Twitter.
Yabba-Dabba-D’oh! SUBSCRIBEto the crew on iTunes and Stitcher, LIKE us on Facebook and FOLLOW the show on Twitter for everything OTVS and WWE Studios.
Did You Know? According to IMDB, the characters of Fred and Wilma Flintstone were the first married couple, ever, to be actually seen in bed together on U.S. television. Incidentally on American TV, Vince McMagma was the first character to make his wife crawl around on her hands and knees like a dinosaur.
The movie absolutely no one (okay, maybe Annie and Marc) asked for! The sequel to “Scooby-Doo! Wrestlemania Mystery” is coming, and does anyone else find it hilarious that Hulk Hogan was supposed to be in this one, presumably a movie about… race(s)? God, I slay me. Keep an eye out, folks, we’ll have you dialed in.
Hey, hey, ScreenTeam! With Abrigo done with that play of his, the podcast is right back on schedule, and it’s back with a prehistoric bullet! Now, after recently getting some great feedback from new listeners on the Scooby Doo! Wrestlemania Mystery show, the OTVS team plans on getting right back into the animated game again for episode sixteen with the Flintstones/WWE crossover — Stone Age Smackdown! Vince McMagma?! CM PUNK ROCK?! I can hear Paolo ripping his hair out, already. Be on the lookout next week, kids!
If this isn’t asking for a live commentary from the OTVS team, I don’t know what is. And is it just me, or was the Ascension cameo in this trailer the most on-screen time they’ve had on the main roster in… well, ever?
And we’re back, good people of the OTVS Universe! Pull your blankets in tight, ’cause the WWE Cinematic Universe is returning to some of its horror roots when Jacob Goodnight dusts off his hooks and chains for another go-around in See No Evil 2! In this sequel, Kane trades in an abandoned hotel for a hospital? A morgue? Whatever this place is, the gang (with Annie, in her last show with OTVS — cue sad face) buckles down and discusses what constitutes proper etiquette when working with the dead, the notion of Kane working as a contractor for Taskrabbit, and whether Paolo can have a proper menage a troisif both his body and soul are involved. Sound weird? That’s because it is.
Let’s give Annie a proper send-off and SUBSCRIBE to the crew on iTunes (and leave a rating or a review for us, por favor), LIKE us on Facebook and FOLLOW the show on Twitter for updates on everything OTVS and WWE Studios.
Did You Know? According to that pesky IMDB, Will’s (Greyston Holt) wardrobe was purposefully designed to mirror Bruce Campbell’s of “Evil Dead,” whereas Tamara’s (Katherine Isabelle) make-up was fashioned after Dakota Block’s from “Planet Terror.” This is to remind you that those were movies that this movie could have been.
